TDM demagnetizer

    Product form

    TDM demagnetizer

Tunnel demagnetisers are designed for the demagnetisation of larger ferromagnetic components and for the batch processing of smaller or thin-walled parts. They are used primarily in mass production, where it is necessary to ensure continuous and repeatable demagnetisation without manual handling. The equipment is installed into production lines, typically in conjunction with a belt or roller conveyor.

      Product description

The TDM tunnel demagnetiser uses an alternating magnetic field to remove residual magnetism from ferromagnetic components. As the components pass through the tunnel, they are gradually demagnetised.

The effectiveness of the demagnetisation depends on the correct selection of the passage opening size in relation to the dimensions of the components. To achieve the desired result, it is therefore important to select the appropriate type of equipment for the specific application.

The demagnetiser is designed for integration into production lines, where it enables continuous demagnetisation of components without the need for manual handling.

      Reliable solution for bulk demagnetization

The TDM Tunnel Demagnetizer is an industrial device designed for the fast and effective removal of residual (remanent) magnetism from steel components. It is an ideal choice for series and mass production where workpieces move on belt conveyors or are processed in large batches. Demagnetization in the tunnel is a crucial step before further processing of parts, such as painting, galvanizing, or final assembly, as it reliably prevents unwanted accumulation of metal chips, dust, and filings on the material's surface.

High performance and seamless integration into production lines

The main advantage of the TDM series is its ability to generate a strong alternating magnetic field that penetrates deep into passing objects. Thanks to its design, this demagnetizer is perfectly suited for integration into automated production lines and conveyor systems. Workpieces can pass through the tunnel continuously without the need to stop the production cycle. The device operates with a high duty cycle, which means it can handle continuous multi-shift operation without the risk of coil overheating.

Robust construction and customization to suit the operation

TDM tunnel demagnetizers stand out for their mechanical resistance and long lifespan, even in the most demanding industrial conditions. Walmag offers these systems in various pass-through window sizes, allowing you to choose the optimal option for the specific dimensions of your products – from small bearings and fasteners to massive steel blocks. The robust all-metal design requires absolutely minimal maintenance, which contributes to low operating costs and maximum reliability of the entire workplace.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are your products made in the Czech Republic? Are your products made in the Czech Republic?

Yes, the entire process – from in-house development through design, production, to final assembly and testing – takes place directly in our plant in Kroměříž. This gives us full control over quality and allows us to flexibly tailor products to specific customer requirements.

What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems? What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems?

Permanent Magnets: Operate without electricity, activated mechanically by a lever. They are safe, mobile, and maintenance-free.
Electromagnets: Generate a magnetic field using coils powered by mains electricity. They possess immense strength, can clamp uneven surfaces, and allow force regulation, but require a constant power supply and backup sources.
Electro-permanent Magnets: Combine the advantages of both systems. They only require electric current for a fraction of a second for activation (magnetization) and deactivation. During operation itself, they do not need current, making them extremely safe even in the event of a power outage and preventing overheating.

Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures? Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures?

Conventional permanent magnets lose their strength at temperatures above 80 °C. However, for operations with higher temperatures, we offer special series (e.g. HOT lifting magnets) that can safely handle materials with temperatures up to 180 °C.

Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining? Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining?

Ferromagnetic materials retain residual magnetism after being exposed to a magnetic field (e.g., when clamped onto a magnetic chuck). This causes metal chips and dust to stick to the workpiece, which can damage tools or complicate further processing (e.g., painting, welding). Demagnetizers reliably remove this residual magnetism.

Do you provide service and revisions for your products?Do you provide service and revisions for your products?

Yes, for all our technologies, including older BUX, Walker, and Pilana brand products, we provide complete warranty and post-warranty service, repairs, overhauls, and original spare parts. We also perform mandatory periodic certifications, inspections, and load capacity testing of lifting magnets.

Due to the higher weight of our products, we cooperate with specialized pallet and parcel carriers who ensure safe handling.

How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed? How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed?

All lifting magnets comply with the strict ČSN EN 13155 standard and operate with a safety factor of 3+. This means that in a pull-off test (the so-called Air Gap test, which simulates a real air gap/dirt in operation), the magnet can lift more than three times its declared maximum load capacity.
